Mobile phone has both merits and demerits. Before mobile phone was invented, communication and messaging system was very hard. But mobile phone has now lessened  the distance of the world. Everyone can bear it with him because of its small size. Thus, it has turned the world into a global village. It is a pragmatic and interesting matter that nowadays messaging and internet system have been added to it. Using a mobile phone set one can take photographs, browse internet, watch video films and so on. An ultra-modern mobile phone set is indeed a mini computer. All these factors have made it popular among the users. Though it was a sign of aristocracy in the past, now it is found in everyone's hand in our country. Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, Teletalk, Airtel and some other mobile phone companies provide us this service. However, a mobile phone has some demerits too. With the help of mobile phone miscreants commit organized crimes. Carrying a mobile set with our body and talking through it can be injurious to health. It harms our brain and can cause cancer in any part of our body. It is more harmful for the children to use mobile phone. However, despite some demerits mobile phone is a blessing for modern life.

Mobile phone is an important medium of communication which helps intercommunication with the people at home and abroad in the shortest possible time. It uses radio waves to communicate. Radio waves transport digitized voice or data in the form of oscillating electric and magnetic fields, called the electromagnetic field (EMF). The rate of oscillation is called frequency. Radio waves carry the information and travel in air at the speed of light. Now, the people can use mobile phone at a cheap rate. The introduction of mobile phone has made our life easy and comfortable. Usually, the people from all walks of life use mobile phone. Specially businessmen and the service-holders  are much benefited through the use of mobile phone. It is useful to the doctors, businessmen and high officials as well. But it is also useful to the people who are shopping and supplying valuable information to his house. In fact, the use of mobile phone cannot be categorized nowadays. It has become an essential ingredient of human life, The world is getting smaller due to the rapid expansion of mobile phone. All professionals  depend on mobile phone to keep close contact with one another for any urgent issue. Although the harmful sides of mobile phone have not been officially confirmed or refuted, it causes several diseases such as tumors, DNA damage, sleeplessness, eye cancer, infertility, cardiac problems and chronic fatigue. Sometimes, the criminals use this phone to maintain their secrecy. By using the mobile phone, the terrorists and criminals carry out their evil designs and commit crimes without much difficulty. In spite of these demerits, there is no better alternative to mobile phone to communicate with people instantly at home and abroad at the least possible cost. So, a mobile phone is a blessing of modern science.
